Trio of activities

PAs were spoilt for choice at our recent Accor reader events - with visits to not one, not two but three of its hotels in London

The All Seasons London Southwark Rose, the Novotel London City South and the Mercure London City Bankside are all situated within easy walking distance - two are next door to each other, while the third is just across the road. And making the most of this proximity were the Executive PA Magazine readers who got to go behind the scenes of the hotels to find out just what makes them tick.

PAs were split into three groups, each starting at a separate hotel. At the All Seasons London Southwark Rose guests had the opportunity to learn about life in a hotel kitchen - how events and hotel guests are catered for as well as the chance to sample the delicious menu for themselves. Moving on, at the Novotal London City South it was the chance for our readers to unleash their inner Tom Cruise and turn their hand to the art of cocktail making! An expert barman was on hand to guide us through the different cocktails and PAs could then relax with a drink in hand. Finally, at the Mercure London City Bankside it was time to call in to play that attention to detail that PAs are often known for, checking the bedrooms. The attention to detail and care that goes into making up each room in the hospitality industry is very much behind the scenes - but when they get it wrong hotel guests will notice. PAs were challenged with spotting the deliberate mistakes that had been made in one of the rooms to give them an idea of what happens before the boss checks in.

After the three groups had explored each hotel everyone convened at the Novotel London City South to enjoy canapés and drinks crafted by the experts this time. Readers had had the opportunity to get a feel for each of the hotels - and find out for themselves the differences that make them stand out along with the first rate service that makes them a hit with the business crowd.
