Selfridges Hamper Launch - 10th November 2011

Glitz, Sparkle and Glam ...

Last night (10th November), Oxford Street was full of festivity with lights, sparkle, Christmas shoppers and Executive PA Magazine Readers. With the lights now switched on and the shop displays in Christmas swing, Selfridges was the perfect setting for wine tasting and hamper launch (and even a spot of shopping, what female can resist the urge of the yellow bag!)

Readers were greeted with a glass of fizz and a chance to sample some of the food from the hampers. Dawn Davies, Selfridges head sommellier, taught the readers how to wine taste and I now know that the reason for swilling the wine around is to let air in which then opens up the smell. She clearly knew her stuff! In fact she is that good, she has selected all the wines for this years hamper range.

A range of hampers were on show for everyone to see and with prices from £25 to £1,000 shows that there is a hamper for everyone whether it be for your boss, colleagues, mother in law or a client. The Selfridges hampers were all colour co-ordinated to the brand and looked luxurious and very well thought out. Tanya McMullen, the lady behind the food in the hamper, explained that the hampers have alot of thought put into them as they need to cater for a number of taste buds.
