Despite the vast leaps forward in technology, a Thomson Reuters survey has revealed that we’re still dependent on paper.
While technology may dictate how businesses operate corporate boards are still lagging behind with too few still embracing the technology that could see them ditching the paper. A survey conducted by Thomson Reuters Governance found that the majority of corporate boards continue to rely on out dated methods of communication with their members such as board books and documents. When you consider that the average corporation survey prepared and distributes nearly 6,000 pages of sensitive material to board members every year you can begin to see the scale of the problem – both in terms of security, cost and environmental issues.
