Have there been many resignations at your employers this week? We only ask because year-on-year statistics have revealed that the third week of September is the most popular time to hand in your notice.
Perhaps a particular enjoyable holiday was enough to make you realise you want to move on in your career or maybe even covering for so many colleagues who were enjoying sunnier climes has pushed you to the limit. Whatever the reason there’s no denying the evidence: this week marks a peak period for moving on. The figures, from Resource on Demand, show that 37 per cent of the year’s total resignations take place this week. The second most popular time is the first week of February (24 per cent), which also coincides with a traditional holiday period from work.
The collected evidence also suggests it takes around four weeks to job hunt, attend interviews and be offered a position you want with a further four weeks working your notice. So we wonder how many PAs will be relatively new to their role when Christmas roles around?
