With talks about extra days off next year for the Royal Wedding we’re surprised more PAs haven’t given more consideration to using up their annual leave this year
According to Travelsupermarket.com the average British worker has 4.7 holiday days left to take before the end of the year – and 12 per cent of staff have 11 or more days left of their holiday allowance this year. According to the figures over half (52 per cent) of employees are not allowed to carry holiday allowance forward to the next year and with many companies asking for a month’s notice on all leave it seems many workers may have to forfeit some of the paid holiday days.
The Welsh have been named the most likely to use up their holiday – with an average of just 3.4 days left to take, while the Northern Irish fare somewhat worse with over a week’s allowance left on average (6.6 days). There’s also a split when it comes to age – 18-23 year olds have an average of 3.7 holiday days left remaining this year, compared to 6.5 days in the over 55 age bracket.
