A recent report has revealed just how many UK employees would be willing to jeopardise their health when it comes to money.
Aviva UK Health revealed that an overwhelming 78 per cent of workers were prepared to return to work following illness even if they weren’t yet fully recovered. Termed ‘presenteeism’ returning to work while still not 100 per cent well will often prolong the illness and prevent you from being as productive as normal. But, fears over money and job security were driving the trend for ill staff in the office. Forty nine per cent declared they’d be back at their desks if financially their families were unable to cope, with a further 11 per cent saying they feared losing their jobs the longer they were off.
