Finding time to chill out from your stressful job could be the way to a leaner you, says new research from the University of Rochester.

Older research as already shown that your job could be leading to you piling on the pounds - as you sit in front of a computer all day with little movement and tend to indulge in take-away food more often than when at home. But now research has revealed that workplace stress can also affect your waistline, and in a negative way. The study also found that stress can impact on sleep patterns, which can lead to drinking too much caffeine at your desk to stay awake. Combining a stressful work day with the predicted weight gain can lead to an increase in the risk of depression, anxiety and cardiovascular health problems. So if you want to take your health into your own hands it seems the changes need to start in the office. Try incorporating some exercise into your daily commute and packing a health lunch to eat.
