For the third year running London’s taxis have been ranked as the best across the globe.

According to the global poll, by Expedia, our capital’s taxi service scored a total of 59 per cent, when users were polled on several categories - including levels of cleanliness, value, quality of driving, knowledge of the area, friendliness, safety and availability. When it came to voting for the friendliest and the most knowledgeable taxi drivers, it was London cabbies who came out top, although they scored lowest when it came to value for money.

Coming in second place - with 27 per cent of the vote - was New York’s yellow taxis which were considered to be the most available taxis… but who tied with Parisian taxi drivers when it came to being the rudest.
