Just how lost do you think you would be without email? Well, despite the large volume of emails that whizz around the globe daily, experts are predicting that email has had its day and within the next decade it will be extinct. Pensions are the age group most devoted to email, followed by middle-aged Britons – while teenagers prefer social networking and instant messaging. So it seems logical that as the next generation grows up and hits the workforce inboxes could be replaced by Tweets. Those who prefer networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, say email in comparison is too slow, too inconvenient and no longer fashionable. The current trend – which shows no signs of abating – is that people prefer to be able to express themselves to all their contacts in one go. So if you’re not already tweeting it could be time to learn.
