Good news for PAs booking hotel rooms – rates for UK hotel rooms have fallen for the first time in four years, according to the Hotel Price Index (HPI) from www.hotels.com. Despite the average room rate drop there were some parts of the country that fared well – with Southampton seeing an impressive 11 per cent rise in Q3 2008, compared to the same quarter in 2007 and Bournemouth experiencing an increase of eight per cent. London has remained as the UK’s second most expensive city, despite a price drop of three per cent.
