You know you’re putting in too many hours in the office when you know everything about your co-workers’ lives… but manage to forget your own husband’s 50th birthday! But new research from Office Angels reveals this is likely to happen to more than just a few of us. According to their study office workers are likely to know the mundane minutiae of each other’s lives and are struggling to get the right balance between work and their love life. Other findings worryingly reveal:

• Two thirds (66%) of employees confess to regularly knowing their co-workers weekend plans

• Over a third (35%) are aware of their colleague’s daily sandwich filling of choice

• One in ten (11%) say they would rather confide in their co-worker over personal problems instead of taking the issue home with them

• Over a quarter (28%) of female employees confess they would be more likely to fork out for a new top for a meeting rather than for a date

• One in five (18%) admit to spending more time preparing for their annual review than preparing for a romantic dinner with their partner
