Yet another airline is introducing a fee for checked baggage and this time it is American Airlines, who will be charging domestic passengers $15 for one item.?The charge comes into effect for tickets bought after June 15 and comes on the back of an announcement just a few weeks ago that the airline would be charging for every second piece of checked luggage. But those who have joined American's AAdvantage program and have achieved AAdvantage Gold, Platinum and Executive Platinum level will be exempt from the new fees. The charges are yet another casualty of the rising oil prices.
