Workers are demanding an end to office sins and want their bosses to act more ethically, according to research commissioned by Brother. Their latest research found that employers are failing to keep pace with the increasing ethical sensitivities of their workforce with recycling being identified as the biggest issue which needs more effort. Forty per cent of businesses were found to have no recycling scheme in place and workers say they feel guilty when they bin paper. The seven deadly office sins have been defined by Brother as: Failure to recycle paper; leaving electronic equipment on stand-by; failure to ensure ethical suppliers; unnecessary business travel; use of bottled water rather than filtered and chilled tap water; failure to use recycling schemes for e-waste; and wasted energy for lighting, heating and air conditioning.?
