Business travellers using American Airlines may soon be able to benefit from in-flight wifi internet service, depending on the outcome of passenger tests. The airline has fitted its fleet of 767-200 aircraft with the Aircell technology and is now closely monitoring the impact the use of the service has on a flight. If the initial test goes well then the service is expected to be switched on on all flights over the next few weeks enabling passengers to access the internet while flying for free. Then once the service goes live American Airlines will charge users $12.95 per flight to access the service for the duration of the flight.
