Thousands of people are abandoning the traditional route for finding a new job and relying solely on the internet, reveals a poll of 40,000 online job hunters. According to the results of the National Online Recruitment Audience Survey nine per cent of people exclusively use the web to search for work, an increase of 50 per cent on last year’s figures. The survey also revealed a better profile on the online job hunter – their average age is 35, they command a salary of ?31,000 and they frequent four recruitment sites in their hunt for a new role.
