The Langham, London, has announced plans for a major refurbishment which will see the hotel reinforce its position as an iconic landmark for London. The hotel, which originally opened in 1865, is planning a substantial programme of restoration and refurbishment, at a cost of ?80million. The work, which is expected to completed by March 2009, will see 382 guestrooms, all 15 function rooms (including the historic Grand Ballroom), the lobby, public areas and the Palm Court (home of the tradition of Afternoon Tea) all painstakingly restored.
