A snapshot survey has revealed how the role of the legal secretary has evolved. The research, from Crone Corkill, found that 63 per cent of office support staff in legal firms have responsibilities usually associated with managerial functions. Other half of those questioned (51 per cent) regularly use presentation software. Aside from their traditional duties, Britain’s legal support staff are also involved in a range of other work areas, with the top five being noted as : marketing and PR; client presentations; recruitment; project management; and office management.
