An estimated five million people will not be going into work on Thursday 15 May – they won’t be calling in sick, jetting off on holiday or shirking their responsibilities. And the boss may even be joining them in this mass stay away from the office! This date is National Work from Home Day and could see the largest mass absence from work for a generation. This date is aimed at highlighting smarter working practices by encouraging businesses to allow workers to perform their duties at home. It is hoped that more companies will sit up and take notice and realise that allowing flexible working practices will only enrich their work force.
