Finnair flies the short, northern route to Asia via Helsinki, providing quick indirect flying times, supported by an excellent value for money service offering. Destinations served include China (Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai), Japan (Tokyo, Nagoya & Osaka), South Korea (Seoul), India (Delhi), Thailand (Bangkok) and Singapore starting May 30th 2011.

Contributing to the efficiency of flying via Helsinki has been the opening of a brand new terminal, designed exclusively to suit the needs of the long haul passenger. Here minimum connection times of 35 minutes can be offered, alongside new facilities such as the Finnair Lounge and Spa. This facility offers four different types of sauna, panoramic views of the runway from the mineral water pool and short holistic treatments designed to alleviate travel fatigue and the effects of jet-lag. Furthermore the business lounge offers travellers a relaxing working environment with complimentary refreshments, WIFI access and shower facilities, all available before boarding connecting flights.

In recent years Finnair has further invested in its quality of service with the introduction of new long haul aircraft (Airbus A330s), including new fully flat business class seats. The aim behind the new fleet is to maximise comfort for passengers whilst significantly reducing emissions. Onboard, passengers can enjoy award winning wines & champagne's, Western or Eastern food options and a multi lingual cabin service designed to meet the needs of the Asian traveller.

Finnair is also a proud member of the oneworld alliance where frequent flyer points can be earned and burned when holding cards from other alliance members. The alliance also provides Finnair customers with code share connections on our oneworld partner's networks, with one such example being onward flights from Asia into Australia (Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney & Perth) with Qantas.*
