The Executive PA magazine awards are the longest established industry awards, with a history dating back over 20 years and a judging panel with decades of experience between them. The 2015 nominations are now open to anyone who meets the criteria below.
All finalists are invited to the awards gala dinner event on 14th October 2015 at 116 Pall Mall, home of the Institute of Directors. Each finalist will receive 2 free tickets to this event where they will receive full recognition for their achievements.
Winning our highest recognised award will take you places – our previous winners have been much in demand and have travelled the globe promoting the PA profession. The winner of this award will be able to demonstrate outstanding qualities including dedication to their vocation, a clear aptitude for the role, a highly conscientious approach to the job and the ability to be a voice and inspiration for other PAs. We’re looking for the PA who has carved out a successful career and who comes highly recommended from the people they work with. Nominations must be able to provide detailed explanations for the reasons for nomination, including examples of exceptional performance. Bosses, colleagues and HR departments may all make nominations, and we strongly encourage PAs to nominate themselves. You must have been working as a PA for at least four years to qualify for this category.
Open to relative newcomers to the PA profession, this award is for anyone who is already showing signs of being a future PA of the Year. Our winner will be full of potential, eager to learn and show a natural flair for the administrative profession. Submissions must set out why the entrant has a bright future ahead of them and be able to give examples of their current capabilities as well as demonstrate their keenness to progress in the PA world. You can nominate yourself or a colleague, and nominations are welcome from Personnel departments and bosses too. This category is open to PAs who have been in the role for less than four years.
Key to an exceptional PA, is a company that encourages, develops and supports its assistants to bring out the best in them. This award will go to the company who actively looks after its administration and secretarial staff, whether that’s through fantastic training opportunities, generous staff initiatives or the support it routinely offers. Submissions for nomination will need to demonstrate how the organisation supports the team on both a personal and vocational level, with information on career development opportunities, training and HR policies. Employees can make nominations and we strongly recommend Personnel departments to submit nominations.
PAs are often only one half of a winning team – it also takes an excellent boss in order to bring the best out of a PA and forge a strong working relationship. A bright boss can nurture a PA in their role and give them the opportunities they need to succeed. Nominations for this award must illustrate, with clear examples, the reasons why your boss is the best. We welcome nominations from Senior PAs only for this category.
We know event management is no walk in the park – but it’s how a PA deals with setbacks, constraints and logistical issues that will determine our winner. Our winner will have taken problems in their stride, injected creative thinking into their plans and ultimately pulled off a first-class event – whether its an AGM, gala dinner or product launch. Nominations must demonstrate how a PA rose to the challenge of executing a well-conceived and successful event. Nominated yourself or a colleague – nominations are also welcome from venues.
